Today and Tomorrow (text: John Dryden) for TTBB low voice choir, piano, and percussion; 2' (2019) commissioned by Perfect Harmony Men's Chorus
composer's note: "Today and Tomorrow" is just a big, open-hearted, lusty declaration of love for life. There's a place for subtlety in music for sure, but this choral setting isn't it. Through contrapuntal textures, mixed meters, and big sweeping crescendos, my setting of Dryden's short poem creates a sense of exultation, joy, and abandon. "Tomorrow, do thy worst / for I have lived today!"
